OOXXOO and the Albany present...

THEATRE

Alexis Taylor [Hot Chip] DJ Set
http://www.myspace.com/hotchip

Alexis is taking a well-earned break from finishing the recording of the new Hot Chip album to come down to Deptford and make you guys dance until the early hours..

Laetitia Stereolab / Marie Lisbonne DJ Set
http://www.myspace.com/stereolab
http://www.myspace.com/lisbonne

I'm over the moon to have both Laetitia and Marie spinning some records on the night as well as showcasing their joint project 'Monade'. Marie's other band Lisbonne opened the first OOXXOO night at the Albanywith an amazing performance and it is a privilege to have her back.

Laetitia is the singer for Stereolab, one of the most important independent bands of the nineties and her voice is a vital element of the bands trademark sound.

The Invisible
http://www.myspace.com/theinvisible

Fresh from a crazy six months supporting Hot Chip, the Doves and Foals, the Invisible are some of the most talented musicians to come out of South East London in the past few years. They are also some of the most well liked and most respected, it is a real pleasure to have them showcase their work.

Monade
http://www.myspace.com/monade

Monade is the nom de plume of Laetitia Sadier when she isn't fronting Stereolab. Originally starting out as her bedroom-recording project, Monade is now a far bigger beast. For this night Laetitia will be playing with Marie from Lisbonne.

Exlovers
http://www.myspace.com/exlovers

Exlovers recently finished recording an EP with Stephen Street [The Smiths, Blur] have been band of the week on Steve Lamacq twice and have spent the year on tour with Golden Silvers, Pete and the Pirates and Emmy the Great - pretty much they're one of the best young bands around and to top it off some of the most lovely people you will meet.

Dimbleby & Capper
http://www.myspace.com/dimblebyandcapper

Laura Bettinson [aka Dimbleby and Capper] pours her sweet and sultry vocal styles over beautifully constructed songs and is currently in the studio working with one the most highly regarded producers in the industry [strictly hush hush right now]. She's got a session coming up on the 3rd June with Radio One's Huw Stephens, had her tracks showcased on Steve Lamacq's show last week and is taking the music world by storm.

David Jay - 'The Vocal Pugilist'
http://www.myspace.com/davidj14

David Jay is one of, if not the best spoken word artist in the UK, just watch this if you need any further explanation- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-R2ToELEtE

No Pain in Pop DJs
http://www.nopaininpop.com

No Pain in Pop are great friends of OOXXOO and without doubt the most up and coming record label in London.

CAFE

A Little Bazaar Market
http://alittlebazaar.blogspot.com/

A Little Bazaar's mission is to bring you up and coming designers of craft, fashion and cakes. Also there are Record stalls, traditional jumble, badge making, Vintage clothes and more... They hosted their market at the previous launch night and I'm so glad they're going to be back for this one!

Zineswap
http://zineswap.com/

I came across Zineswap at the Take Courage Gallery about a month ago and I thought it was one of the greatest ideas I've seen recently.

Zineswap aims to be a resource through which people can swap their zines with one-another.
It also aims to become a vast archive of contemporary zine publishing, existing as both an online catalogue and an annual exhibition.

Please see their facebook group for more information or come down and talk to them on the night - http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=39825520658&ref

What They Could Do They Did
http://www.theydid.org.uk

WTCDTY are a South London based Art Collective who do all sorts of great events and exhibitions and will be coming down and hosting a stall of their produce.

We are also proud to have the absolute cream of local New Cross DJs for the night
